This Week.......

I am too tired to be creative like I was in the last post. That took a lot of brain power! More than I have right now.:)

So, this week has been a little crazy. We started out the week having what I thought was Braxton Hicks contractions. My husband and my mother knew it was labor. I was in denial until after midnight Tuesday morning when my contractions starting "feeling different" and were starting to be "not so painless." So, at 12:30 in the morning, we all pile into the car and drop my kids off to my most awesome wonderful sister who was more than willing to take them in the middle of the night for us. Then, we drove to the hospital. By the time we got to the hospital, my contractions had gotten to be about two minutes apart and were really starting to intensify. By the way, I thought I may mention that by the time it felt like my whole innards were about to drop out, labor was no longer deniable. So, entering the hospital, we were quickly wheeled down to labor and delivery. And soon after, the contractions weren't near as intense. Of course. Just like a sick kid, I can always expect them to slow down in intensity the moment we get anywhere important. Happens all the time when I take a sick kid into the doctor.:) Anyway, I was started on "pit" at about 6 a.m. to "speed up" my natural labor. No, this is not being induced.:) My water was broken and I got my epidural around 8:30 a.m. Within two hours, it was pushing time. Baby was born at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday. He's cute. We love him dearly! We came home Christmas Eve and got to spend Christmas at home.:) And now, my husband and kids (except the baby and myself) are all on the way to meet Grandparents so kids can spend a week with them for the holidays. I hate sending my husband that far when he's the only driver. But, I'm in no shape after a week like this, to do a serious road trip. And neither is Junior!

Life is grand. I posted a few pictures below. Have happy holidays everyone.

  2. How much did he weigh? He looks big. I'm glad you got an epidural. You need to give me a call. So he was born the 22nd? I hope you had a good Christmas. Is he sleeping at all? I guess with your kids gone you can sleep when he sleeps all day. That will probably help your recovery speed along. Congratulations. I hope you are all well.

  4. Miriam, he was 7 pounds 7 ounces and he was a whoppin 21 inches long!!!!! No wonder it was hard to breathe during the third trimester. I'm glad I got an epidural too. He's doing WAY good with his sleeping schedule. He wakes up on his own every three or four hours to eat, but he does sleep between. And yes, it's very nice having the kids gone this week although I miss them. If you don't get this message, I'll e-mail you. I don't have your phone number. I'll personal message you and give you mine.:)

April, we miss you too! Haven't seen you for AGES!!
