SO.............
I have a confession to make to the readers of this blog. I have come to the conclusion that my blog is boring. I would like to make it more entertaining, funner reading, more pictures, better quality pictures, fun games, and stuff like that. Guess what. I have no time. You see, even though my blog is boring, my life is FAR from boring. Sometimes it's too busy. So, until I can find a balance, I have no solution to this little confession/problem.
Here are some of the things we are doing lately. Jared is Elders Quorum President, keeping super busy with that. And he plays games with his guys on Saturday night. Two of them have made their way here from up North; and them and a few other guys get together to "duke it out" on Saturday nights. In fact, the other night, they had another guy who is living in Germany skyping the whole night off one of the guys computers that he brought to our house and set up in the kitchen. I've decided skype is cool and we should get it.:) Jared is still working hard at the business, but hours are more around 40/week instead of the 60 and 65/week that he was getting when he started out. I am in the RS presidency in my ward. I am super busy with getting that organized. I'm trying to do the best I can to fulfill whatever the needs are there. I am also the ward camp director for the young women this year. I am having fun with this calling. Here, the stake pretty much has to take care of the meals. Each ward cooking their own food would contribute to the fire danger, or not follow the restrictions like we should. (Yes, tumbleweeds burn up SUPER fast! Ask me sometime because I know!) This is what I've decided and not what people have told me. With the stake leaders taking care of the food side of things, it helps a lot on the ward level. But, there is still a lot of planning to do. I'm SO excited to spend time at camp. This happens in July. It's going to be really cool! I am also a pianist in the ward. I love playing the piano. We have about four piano players in our ward that regularly play, including me. Busy! It's fun. I wish I could hand off the feelings of satisfaction I get from playing the piano to everyone around me. Some of my most spiritual moments have been while deeply engrossed in a good piano practicing session. Of course, I visit teach as well. I am loving this. Social outlets from the lady living in the boonies who sees four walls six days a week is a complete and total thrill. Hard to go visiting teaching; especially for a social butterfly?????? I think not.:)
The family is doing great. We're working on a family garden at my sister in laws house. BIG family garden. We're talking 'Jared's parents and siblings and their family' family garden. It's going well. It's fun to see the hard work pay off. So far, we've just seen a few plants poke through the ground. We're hoping for some good produce come this summer. I can't wait!:) And it's been really fun working on it on Monday nights. This is the first Monday night I've been home in two months. Love my family. Jared and I both got super lucky on that!:)
Oh, also, we're moving. We bought a very cheap house in the area (single-wide) and will be living there. So, while it's far from spacious and far from fancy, it's cheap and we feel right about doing it. It will be a good move for us. And I'm very excited about that. We plan to build onto it slowly to make it bigger and a little more accommodating for our little family. It'll have three bedrooms and one bathroom at first. But, it's on a good sized piece of land and we have plenty of room to expand. So, finding the time to pack boxes has been pretty tough. But, we'll get there slowly but surely.:) I once heard a quote that went something like this: "If you really love your kids and want to show them, spend double the time with them and half the money on them."
The kids are in school for not much longer. Their school is just awesome! Just last week, Princess and Einstein performed a fun song in the annual school talent show. Look it up on youtube.:) Ray Stevens - Sitting Up With The Dead. It was GREAT! They had the some-odd 50 spectators (audience) rolling on the floor laughing. My kids are hams!:) It was fun! And no, I didn't get to video it. BOOOOOOOO!
Not boring! It's an update on what's going on with you guys, and that's why I read it! At least you post, I haven't in months!
ReplyDeleteHannah, thank you for reading my blog.:) I really appreciate it.:) And thanks for commenting.:)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about being too busy to blog!! But yours isn't boring at all!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melanie! Hope you guys are doing well!:)
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog! I thought the same thing about my blog but then realized that just because people don't comment all the time, doesn't mean they're not enjoying my posts.
