Hi,
I am looking for suggestions and would LOVE comments on this subject. PLEEEEEAAAAAASSSSEEEEEE.
I am wanting fun and FREE ideas on family activities during the summer, both while the hubby is at home, and while he's at work during the day. Camping, themed days with coincided meals, anything. If you have web sites that you like that have to do with this, what are your favorite ones? If we can't go anywhere on vacation, maybe I could find things around home that are therapeutic for kids and myself. Again, free. We have to eat anyway, but other than that, not much of a budget for anything.
All summer long my kids play in the water outside. It's the best. We also visit all kinds of different parks. Do you live by a water fountain splash park that the kids can play in? That's always fun. Also crafts!!! I get idea's here:

Home Depot has a free kids craft the first Saturday of each month:

Also most movie theaters play kid movies weekday mornings during the summer that is either free or very cheap.
Our school district provides free lunch for anyone who wants one every weekday at certain Junior High Schools. How cool is eating school lunch during summer vacation!
Well now that I'm plumb out of idea's I'll stop writing them. Good Luck! Oh...and if all else fails, build a fort!

You could easily make this with some scrap wood and an old bed sheet or shower curtain... I need to make one for my kids!
Melanie, thanks for being such a valiant reader! And thank you so much for your ideas! I'm anxious to try some.:)
ReplyDeleteI don't know because you live in Paulden, and it's boring there. LOL jk Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHannah, sheesh, thanks for the inspiration....:) JK. Thanks for the good luck. And seriously, if you have any ideas, let me know.
ReplyDeleteAnd besides, all these dust devils and tumbleweeds are just fun to watch. Oh, and the wind.... We won't even get into that!:):):):) Hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteNo, really. I don't mind it other than the fact that it's WAY too far from Northern areas I'd like to visit much more often.
ReplyDeleteFor a while we did a hike a week. Mostly we did the same one up to Ensign peak. But the kids loved it and it was free. You could make nature books and have them draw pictures of the plants, animals and insects you see.
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone!:):):)
