Fall Update

Guess what?!!?  I won the _____ of the year award.  The blank is because I'm not sure how to describe it.  Wife, mother, genius, not sure.  But, what I did is award worthy.  I will not tell the whole story, start to finish, but I will say that bruised ribs aren't pleasant.  Neither is a toe that feels like it was bent back WAY too far WAY too fast.  And when a pop (kind of like popping your back) is heard in the rib cage in the middle of the night, that probably doesn't mean anything good.  For me, it means pain and sleeping on my back for the rest of the night.  If the tub bottom is slippery, there are things available to fix the issue before somebody gets hurt.  Penny pinching isn't worth the pain.  Trust me.  So, here's to Percocet and Ibuprofen.  Yay for drugs!  And a very BIG thank you to my awesome nurse family members who can give me advice!  Maybe I should go to school and become a nurse myself.  Maybe it takes times like these for me to finally sit down and realize I can't go everywhere and do everything.  Maybe I should be spending more time at home with my kids and doing more with my husband.  Even if it requires some household chores while we're doing something fun as a family, like laundry and a movie; or a sickness or injury that simply makes me slow down and do the basic things in life for awhile.  Those lessons are good even when they aren't the funnest of circumstances.

Kids are doing terrific.  We had their parent teacher conferences this week.  I LOVE their school and the teachers there!  We are beginning our two week fall break now.  I'm so good with that.  And I'm excited they are out of school for a few weeks and that we can just relax at home or go somewhere.  The younger two not in school are doing terrific too.  I'm so darned blessed to have such an awesome family!  They truly are a piece (or six) of my heart.:)  And today, Einstein turned 9 years old.  Oh my gosh!  Time flies!  And we have to make sure it's quality time that we spend with our kids just because of that very reason.  It seems to be my focus lately.  I sure love my family.

My husband is doing great!  He's been super busy at work.  He has been working some pretty decent overtime hours.  I am grateful for him every day!  My life without my husband in it would be completely different.  I love him more now than the day we got married.  It's pretty awesome to have your best friend right next to you and with you all the time!:)  Even if we're not physically right next to each other all the time, it's WAY cool to have him close.  I love being married to him!

Halloween is coming up.  Last year, we dressed up as Nickle Nuts (it was cute) and my husband and I were the piggy banks.  We try to do group themes every year.  Anybody have any bright ideas that are cheap and easy to make?  I LOVE Halloween.  I used to be a total grinch about Halloween.  But, I LOVE it now!  It's fun to see peoples' creativity and it's fun to see my kids' excitement.  And it's fun to snitch out of their candy too.  (OH WAIT!  I didn't say that, did I?:)  No, really.  We tell our kids that the parents require a tip from each child for payment for taking them trick or treating, or trunk or treating as it's now commonly called.:)  It works great.:)  And they are so sweet to share even though the tips have been paid in full.:)  Love my kids!  All of em!:)

I'm not feeling very creative at the moment.  So, this is a very general post.  I'm off.  Hope you're not bored to tears.  If you have any bright ideas of what to post on blogs, I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear them!:)  And hopefully we'll get a better camera so I can actually post pictures every now and then too.:)

Tah tah fer now.:)

  1. I think you should tell the story of your pop in the middle of the night. Where do you live exactly? i would love to get together if we are close:-)

  2. Hey Wendy,

I wish I could tell the story. All I remember is basically what I said. I was half asleep, I remember feeling like I had just done a stretch and it waking me up, and then a pop. And from then on, the pain was more intense. I literally couldn't roll over the rest of the night. It was NOT pleasant. The pop was just like someone popping my back, or my fingers, or a routine "pop" done in the chiropractor's office. Nothing more. But, it sure did hurt! I still don't know what it was. And just FYI, I'm going to TOFW in November. Are you? Let me know because I'd love to see you there. I hate leaving that personal of information on my blog because it is public. So, if you have my email address, or facebook, message me.:)
